Full Job Description
As a Tag Administration Clerk, you will support Calgary Parking, partner agencies, and citizens by managing the full lifecycle of parking tags and violation tickets, from issuance to final resolution. You will play a key part in ensuring smooth administrative processes by handling inquiries, reviewing documentation, and preparing accurate court materials related to the City of Calgary's Parking, Traffic, Streets, and Temporary Sign Bylaws. Primary duties include:
• Review and process administrative requests for parking tags from customers and partner groups, including Calgary Parking properties and Calgary Police Service.
• Assess the information provided and decide the right outcome, such as canceling the tag, enforcing payment, or requesting additional evidence to ensure fair and compliant outcomes.
• Review towing and storage fee refund requests and work with the right authorities to confirm whether the fees should stay in place or be refunded.
• Prepare and maintain clear and accurate documents, emails, and records for all administrative review requests.
• Prepare and organize court packages for Parking, Traffic, and Sign Bylaw cases, and maintain court schedules and withdrawal lists, including sending required updates to the law department.
• Manage parking-tag payment processing and refunds, including handling POS and manual payments, resolving payment issues, preparing refund lists, and maintaining accurate financial records and spreadsheets.
Qualifications
• A High school diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED or CAEC (Canadian Adult Education Certificate) and at least 3 years of office administration and customer service experience, completed within the last 2 years.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook) is required.
• Average typing speed of 30 words per minute (wpm) is required.
• Job-related course work or post-secondary training will be an asset.
• Knowledge of City of Calgary's parking, Traffic, Streets and Temporary Signs Bylaw will be considered an asset.
• Experience with high volume data entry will be considered an asset.
• Strong computer skills with ability to learn new programs with ease.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
• Excellent communication and time management skills, the ability to be organized, with a high attention to detail is essential to this role.
Working Conditions: Ability to lift 20 pounds (9 kilograms) is required.
