Travel: 10% - 25%
Position Summary

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Systems Test Engineer to support Department of Defense Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) activities. This role supports time-sensitive, mission-critical technology assessments across a range of defense domains. The selected candidate will contribute to impartial system-level evaluations that inform senior leadership decisions impacting operational missions worldwide. This position requires hands-on involvement in test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting.

Description of Duties
The candidate will:
  • Develop and direct the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for conducting system-level tests
  • Analyze test results against specifications, requirements, and operational needs while identifying technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Ensure test adequacy by developing test methodologies, scenarios, and data collection plans
  • Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system-level evaluations
  • Assess commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) equipment specifications for operational use
  • Analyze, evaluate, and document test data and results
  • Produce formal test reports in accordance with established organizational standards
  • Present test results and assessments to senior leaders to support operational decision-making
  • Attend meetings and conduct interviews to support technology assessments and market studies
  • Lead assessment teams or serve as a data collector in support of other teams as required
  • Work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Support other analysts in consolidating test results when required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess and maintain an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience with technical writing and formal reporting
  • Experience with Space Fundamentals, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), and/or Electronic Warfare (EW) in operational, research, or technical environments
  • Strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to define operationally critical requirements in coordination with the customer and design tests to determine system performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to schedule changes, and meet short suspense deadlines
  • Experience with current and emerging defense technologies and a willingness to learn new systems

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Joint Military or Special Operations missions and sustainment activities
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly understand new technologies and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Experience working with multi-level classified information systems in a secure environment
  • Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • Demonstrated history of professional or technical publications

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to operate in office, industrial, shipboard, and field environments
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to tolerate extended exposure to extreme temperature variations
  • Ability to hike uphill and downhill while carrying up to 25 pounds of specialized equipment over improved and unimproved surfaces
  • Ability to lift and move materials within established single person lifting guidelines
