Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Systems Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Apply systems engineering principles and methodologies throughout the lifecycle of avionics and aircraft system development in support of U.S. Army aviation programs.
  • Work closely with government and industry customers to understand program objectives, technical requirements, system interfaces, and engineering challenges.
  • Apply structured engineering and scientific methods to the definition, design, analysis, integration, verification, validation, and reporting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  • Develop, decompose, allocate, analyze, and maintain system and subsystem requirements while ensuring requirements are complete, consistent, verifiable, and traceable.
  • Support the assessment and verification of system and systems-of-systems requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Perform independent engineering analyses of avionics and aircraft systems, including physical, functional, performance, and operational characteristics.
  • Support system architecture development, interface definition, requirements traceability, and system integration activities.
  • Develop and review engineering documentation supporting airworthiness, safety, verification, validation, and system substantiation activities.
  • Review engineering analyses, test results, technical reports, and other engineering products; reconcile discrepancies and ensure technically sound conclusions.
  • Identify technical risks, system interfaces, dependencies, and potential impacts to aircraft-level performance, safety, and airworthiness.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, systems safety, configuration management, and other engineering disciplines to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Prepare and present technical findings, engineering analyses, recommendations, and program deliverables to internal and external customers.
  • Support the development and implementation of digital engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices across aviation programs.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, avionics, aerospace, military aviation, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering methodologies to complex systems or systems-of-systems.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or maintaining engineering requirements and requirements traceability.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical data, specifications, system architectures, and other complex engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Up to 10% travel

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink, or other engineering analysis, modeling, and simulation tools.
  • Experience developing or reviewing safety, airworthiness substantiation, requirements traceability, verification, or validation documentation.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Army aviation standards, specifications, technical manuals, and engineering processes.
  • Experience supporting rotary-wing aircraft or other military aviation systems.
  • Experience working in a government or defense contractor environment.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting aircraft modification, system integration, qualification testing, or airworthiness activities.

Experience working with government customers or military aviation program offices.
