Senior Systems Engineer (Level 3) to serve as a principal technical leader and subject matter expert within the Enterprise EDR Program. Operating across a classified, multi-domain infrastructure, you will drive the strategic architectural design, end-to-end integration, deployment, and optimization of premier endpoint security platforms-specifically
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) and
Trellix HX. In this high-impact role, you will bridge high-level systems architecture with real-time operational defense to ensure total endpoint visibility and robust threat containment across enterprise and mission-critical assets.
The annual base salary range for this role is $149,000-$177,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Enterprise EDR Platform Mastery: Deep, demonstrated subject matter expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-scale Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) and Trellix HX solutions.
- Advanced Querying & Rule Authoring: Proven proficiency writing and optimizing complex queries using Kusto Query Language (KQL) and authoring custom YARA rules for threat hunting and detection engineering.
- Hybrid & VDI Infrastructure Engineering: Experience implementing EDR agent architectures across hybrid enterprise environments (on-premises, cloud, and VDI platforms).
- Advanced Incident Response & Forensics: Technical capability providing high-tier incident analysis, root-cause investigation, and digital forensics support in enterprise Linux/Windows environments.
- Strategic Technical Leadership: Experience serving as a lead systems engineer, authoring technical implementation plans, and briefing executive or Government stakeholders on risk postures.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, PLUS 20+ years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 25+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired SkillsSecurity Certifications: Advanced industry certifications such as CISSP, GCFA, GCFE, GREM, or Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert.
Automation & Scripting: Practical experience writing Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripts to automate endpoint policy configuration, agent health monitoring, and forensic data collection.
SIEM & SOAR Integration: Experience integrating EDR telemetry and alerts into enterprise SIEMs (e.g., Splunk) and SOAR platforms for automated incident response workflows.
