Full Job Description
Role:

MDA is seeking a Systems MTS, Satellite Missions to lead system-level engineering activitiesacross earth observation and remote sensing satellite programs.Working as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of end-to-end mission solutions, supporting the definition, design, integration, verification, and operations of complex space missionsand systems.

Responsibilities:

As a Systems MTS, Satellite Missions, you may have a wide range of responsibilities that include:

  • Working with customers and end users to understand mission needs and translate them into system requirements from mission level down to major subsystems (Bus, Payload, Ground Segment, Launch, Operations,etc)
  • Drive mission design trade studies to define and develop overall mission architecture and subsystems
  • Developing and generating key deliverables such as engineering plans, budgets, design reports, and operational concepts
  • Performing mission analyses including link budgets, coverage analyses, geolocation accuracy, and pointing budgets
  • Leading the developmentandmaintenance ofinterface control documents (ICDs) between major mission subsystems
  • Reviewing subcontractor design material to ensure compliance with system requirements
  • Developing spacecraft test procedures and supporting or overseeing their execution
  • Leadingsystem-level verification activities across the mission
  • Leading Development ofoperations procedures and products for on-orbit commissioning and routine mission operations


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Applied Mathematics
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in space systems or a related field
  • Experience or knowledge in satellites and their applications, including optical or SAR remote sensing, spacecraft attitude control, orbit determination and maintenance, spacecraft systems (power and communications), flight software interfaces,orspacecraft operations
  • Familiarity with tools such asMatlab, MS Excel, Systems Tool Kit (STK), and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Windchill)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of engineering lifecycle processes across complex programs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated with a team-oriented mindset


Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The compensation range for this position is $86,000 - $130,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
