Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to work on complex projects crucial to our national security objectives. They will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to assist the government in implementing and executing systems engineering processes to integrate mission systems into the operational baseline at a customer facility in Chantilly, Va.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Advise and assist the government with the planning, engineering, integration, and O&M activities of mission systems.
  • Analyze and document site system architecture and impacts associated with system updates/deliveries.
  • Collaborate with Headquarters Directorates, site organizations, and mission partners to ensure understanding of project requirements and risks (cost, schedule, technical).
  • Document, develop and deliver analysis, recommendations, plans, reports/briefings to the Government.
  • Develop and maintain Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models of mission systems, integrating MBSE tools into a digital thread to connect siloed information systems.
  • Leverage digital twin technologies and modeling and simulation tools to support early-stage risk reduction, operational rehearsal, and system performance verification.
  • Support the development and integration of automated test solutions and continuous improvement in software design and architecture.

Qualifications

Required:
  • US Citizenship.
  • Active TS/SCI with current polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Master's in STEM field and seven (7) year or more experience. STEM is a contractual requirement.
  • Knowledge of customer's space and ground domain mission and technical capabilities.
  • Systems engineering background; understanding of systems development life cycle from concept, requirements, engineering design, integration and test, deployment, maintenance, through decommissioning.
  • Experience in requirements definition, system architectures, systems analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation, and verification.
  • Polished communicator and proven collaborator; demonstrated ability to coordinate across all levels of government to ensure contracts effectively deliver required services and capabilities.
  • Self-starter, able to proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics.
  • Familiar with model-based systems engineering and digital engineering concepts and tools; Agile/DevSecOps development methodology, cloud technologies.

Desired:
  • Experience in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling DoD or Intelligence Community projects or Programs.
  • Experience in architecture management, baseline audit, and verification.
  • Familiar with JIRA, Confluence.
  • Proficiency in using modeling tools and software (e.g. Sparx Enterprise Architect, or Capella).
  • Familiarity with modeling languages such as SysML or UAFML.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and automation to optimize platform performance and reliability.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
