DescriptionNorthrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 3 or 4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This requisition can be filled at Level 3 Principal Systems Engineer or Level 4 Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.

Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance at the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the DOORS environment, managing system and element level modules and specifications, ensuring the DOORS baseline is consistent with all approved baseline updates, driving the completeness and consistency of necessary attributes and linkages, document creation from DOORS modules, customer and internal account creation and management, basic DOORS training, and creating metrics to analyze appropriate requirements and verification stability, completeness, and maturation.Having an open and inquisitive attitude allowing for the identification of efficiencies and improvements in the DOORS environment is preferred.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Maintaining and streamlining the SEIT DOORS environment
-Managing system and element level modules and specifications
-Ensuring the DOORS baseline is consistent with all approved baseline updates
-Driving the completeness and consistency of necessary attributes and linkages
-Document creation from DOORS modules
-Customer and internal account creation and management
-Basic DOORS training
-Creating metrics
-DXL scripting in DOORS to support efficient linkages
-Managing Requirement and Verification WGs
-Experience and knowledge with Unclassified-to-Classified DOORS maintenance and syncing
-Updating DOORS attributes and module default views
-Specifics of responsibilities can be tailored based on the skillset and specific experience of the selected candidate.
Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer 6 Level 3:
-Bachelor 27s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience OR
-Master 27s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 3+ years of engineering experience OR
-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 1+ year(s) of engineering experience
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date OR
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate 27s maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer 6 Level 4:
-Bachelor 27s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8+ years of engineering experience OR
-Master 27s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 6+ years of engineering experience OR
-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 4+ years of engineering experience
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date OR
-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate 27s maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Previous experience as a DOORS Administrator
-Familiarity with the DXL scripting language
-Systems engineering fundamentals
-Prior spacecraft project experience
-DOORS, CAMEO, and MBSE knowledge & proficiency
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) clearance along with active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate 27s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
