Position SummaryThe Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing systems, equipment, and processes that support production operations. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, IT, and operations to ensure production systems are reliable, efficient, and scalable while meeting customer and business requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, develop, implement, and support manufacturing systems and production equipment.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend system improvements to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new equipment, automation, and production technologies.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, controls, and system integration issues affecting manufacturing operations.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, process flow diagrams, work instructions, and technical specifications.
- Support equipment validation, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) projects and manufacturing process development.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist with preventive maintenance strategies and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Ensure systems comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel when needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, automation, and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics, or industrial networking is preferred.
- Experience with CAD software and manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, or precision manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 quality systems.
- Experience with automation integration and Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and process capability studies.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand, walk, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and work around industrial equipment.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment- Manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Occasional travel to customer or supplier sites may be required.
- PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear is required in designated production areas.
