LOCATION: Full-time onsite in Herndon, VA
We are looking for a skilled
Systems Engineer who excels at automating cloud infrastructure, managing diverse operating systems, and supporting full-stack application environments. You'll configure AWS services, maintain Apache/Tomcat/Express servers, administer SQL and NoSQL databases, and apply user-centered design principles to improve application interfaces. This role also includes performing vulnerability scan analysis, maintaining PKI certificates, supporting COTS product installations, and enabling secure deployments through DevOps tools and automated testing.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this challenging yet rewarding role, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. You must have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:
- Automating configuration and provisioning of cloud resources.
- Configuring and administrating Amazon Linux, and Windows OS.
- Automating and scripting using Bash and Terraform.
- Installing and managing Apache, Tomcat and Express servers.
- Administering databases like MySQL.
- Administering no-SQL databases like MongoDB.
- Applying usability and accessibility standards, user research, and user-centered design principles for software development to optimize application interface designs.
- Providing system architectural guidance and recommendations.
- Providing database support to include database patches, installations, data and database migrations, and backup and recovery database maintenance.
- Performing regression and unit and acceptance testing (UAT).
- Performing analysis of system vulnerability scans and recommending necessary remediation based on scan result analysis.
- Using Jira.
- Using Confluence.
- Knowledge of DEVOPS tools such as Jenkins and Github.
- Knowledge of installing and maintaining PKI certificates.
Installing and maintaining COTS IT products. - Providing technical support for integration and deployment of applications into a cloud production environment.
- Creating and maintaining automated test scripts to test new or existing applications for compliance with best practices.
- AWS CloudFormation Templates, Load Balancer, Autoscaling, Security Groups, S3 and KMS.
- OpenSSL and TLS encryption protocols
- Performing analysis of system vulnerability scans and recommending necessary remediation based on scan result analysis.
