JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:- Translate customer / commercial requirements into system requirements
- Decompose high-level automation & autonomy features into system-level functional requirements, maintain clear traceability and documentation
- Define the system architecture, interfaces, and integration strategy across the machine subsystems
- Collaborate on the design approach and trade-offs
- Develop features integrating across hardware, software, sensors, and control systems
- Create and track FMEAs
- Cross-functional coordination with machine systems, software, digital teams, validation, and product support
- Issue resolution through triage and troubleshooting
- Track schedule, deliverables, and technical risk
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- This position is for a systems engineer for the development and integration of advanced technology with heavy-duty equipment / machines. This includes the integration of sensors, components, and software for automation & autonomy products.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:- Years of experience: 5 years of relevant experience; Masters - 3 years exp
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited engineering or robotics or equivalent technical field;
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:- Development and tracking of requirements
- Strong understanding of integrating sensors, computer, and software
- Issue resolution through triage and troubleshooting
DESIRED SKILLS:- Experience in the areas of robotics, remote control, or autonomy
- Experience with datalinks (CAN, Ethernet, etc.) and associated tools (CANape, Wireshark, etc.)
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Experience with software development tools such as git, debuggers, and compilers
- Experience with ROS
- Experience with perception and positioning sensor configuration and calibration
- Experience with FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modes
- Experience developing systems for mobile, earthmoving, agricultural, industrial, or off-highway applications

The pay range for this role is:
