Systems Engineer (Business & Infrastructure Operations)
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support federal government programs by designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems and cloud-based infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance across data and analytics platforms, while supporting integration, deployment, and operational stability.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in AWS-based environments and supporting modern data platforms, with a strong focus on system integration, troubleshooting, and operational support.
Location
This is a hybrid role which may require occasional travel to the DC Metro area for onsite client meetings. Preference to candidates located within the Washington, DC Metro area.

What You Will Do
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based systems and infrastructure within AWS environments
- Support system integration across applications, data platforms, and services to ensure seamless interoperability
- Manage and maintain development, test, staging, and production environments
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, implementing improvements as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and infrastructure issues across environments
- Support software deployments and releases in coordination with DevSecOps and development teams
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and resource utilization
- Support data and analytics platforms, including Databricks, Tableau, and database systems
- Collaborate with technical teams, including architects, developers, and database administrators, to deliver integrated solutions
- Assist in configuration management, system upgrades, and patching activities
- Maintain system documentation, including configurations, processes, and operational procedures
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years
- 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, or related technical roles
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or similar)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda or similar)
- 3+ years of experience supporting system integration, configuration, and environment management
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and resolving system or application issues in production environments
- 2+ years of experience supporting deployments and release activities in cloud environments
- 2+ years of experience working with Linux-based systems and environments
- Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle
- Familiarity with data platforms such as Databricks, Tableau, or similar analytics tools
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk, Grafana or similar)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins or similar)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support system operations in a dynamic environment
- Experience working in client-facing environments with a focus on responsiveness and issue resolution

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$98,187.00 - $166,919.00
