Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Systems Development Engineer III to join the Region Services team within Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC). In this role, you will lead the technical integration and onboarding of Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and model providers into US Sovereign and Dedicated Cloud environments.
You are the connective tissue between ISV partners, AWS service teams, and government customers-ensuring that partners can rapidly deploy their products in classified and air-gapped environments. You will define the end-to-end integration strategy, starting with a priority cohort of ISV partners, then scaling processes and tooling across all US sovereign partitions and contracts.
This role also encompasses "Model Parity"-working with AI/ML model providers to get their model containers validated and deployed into Gov and ADC regions. You will operate in high ambiguity, context-switching between hands-on technical deployment work, strategic partner coordination, and cross-organizational alignment with AWS Professional Services and WWPS partner teams.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical onboarding of ISV partners into ADC environments, from initial credentialing (e.g., account provisioning) through architecture review and production deployment
- Provide hands-on technical support to ISVs deploying workloads in classified environments, including architecture guidance, troubleshooting, deployment automation, and operational readiness
- Define and own the ISV integration strategy; develop repeatable onboarding processes, runbooks, and automation tooling that scale beyond the initial - Drive Model Parity: work with AI/ML model providers to package, validate, and deploy their model containers into GovCloud and ADC regions
- Identify and escalate service or feature parity blockers that prevent ISV deployment; collaborate with internal service teams to drive resolution
- Coordinate with AWS Professional Services, WWPS Partner teams, and government stakeholders to delineate responsibilities and avoid duplication of effort
- Support ISVs ranging from AWS-experienced organizations to those with zero classified environment experience, adapting engagement depth accordingly
- Work across both low-side and high-side environments; interface with government customers on requirements, compliance, and technical dependencies
- Influence technical roadmaps across partner and service teams; contribute to executive-level strategy documents and status reporting
- Operate across multiple partitions and contracts (GovCloud, DCA/Secret, Topaz/Top Secret, and related programs)
A day in the life
On any given day, you might help an ISV that has never operated in a classified environment get credentialed and into their first TS account; architect a containerized deployment for a SaaS partner that needs to operate differently in air-gapped networks; escalate a feature parity gap to the owning service team with a crisp write-up of customer impact; or align swim lanes with Professional Services on who is handling which phase of a partner engagement. You will balance strategic planning with tactical execution, working across classification levels and across AWS organizations.
About the team
AWS Region Services owns the expansion of AWS capabilities into new regions, including Dedicated Cloud environments that serve US Government and Intelligence Community customers. We sit at the intersection of product expansion, partner ecosystem development, and national security mission delivery.
This is a small, high-impact team with significant executive visibility, operating in a start-up-like environment within a large organization. You will partner closely with the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) partner organization, AWS Professional Services, and program offices across multiple classified contracts.
