Responsibilities

Peraton is looking to hire an Solutions Architect in the Washington DC Metro area.  This role will be a remote position.   At times, the role will also require travel to the Quantico client site when necessary.

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Lead solution architecture for major initiatives, epics, and features, translating mission, business, and user requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and program objectives.
  • Develop architecture artifacts, including solution diagrams, integration designs, data flows, API specifications, and technical decision records.
  • Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, engineers, and data scientists to refine requirements, assess technical impacts, identify AI opportunities, and support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and Program Increment (PI) planning.
  • Design secure, scalable cloud-native solutions using microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, workflow orchestration, messaging, and modern integration patterns across internal and external government systems.
  • Design and implement AI-enabled capabilities, including Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), intelligent search, document analysis, workflow automation, and decision-support solutions while ensuring compliance with Responsible AI, privacy, security, and governance requirements.
  • Develop secure API, data exchange, and integration strategies that improve interoperability, scalability, maintainability, and reduce technical debt.
  • Partner with DevSecOps teams to incorporate Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated deployment, testing, monitoring, observability, resiliency, performance optimization, and cost management into solution designs.
  • Integrate security, privacy, Zero Trust principles, federal cybersecurity requirements, and program security controls throughout the solution lifecycle, supporting architecture reviews, security assessments, and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architecture, cloud, automation, and AI adoption strategies to improve mission outcomes.
  • Present technical options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to leadership; support architecture governance processes; and mentor engineers and technical leads on solution architecture best practices.

  • Must be local to the Washington DC Metro area.
Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
