Job Summary:

Supervises staff and responsible for utilizing technical and business knowledge to configure and support assigned applications/systems. Responsible for assisting with project planning and completion including analysis, training, testing, documentation, problem resolution and application implementation. Cross-trains with other areas of the department as assigned to accomplish and meet technical, business or operational needs for which the employee is qualified to perform. Participates in a culture of continuous improvement to ensure that departmental goals and the organization’s strategic initiatives and targets are met.

Job Duties:

  • Leads/manages department staffing needs, including, but not limited to schedules, project assignments, productivity, interviewing, hiring, new hire/ongoing training, annual evaluations, salaries, promotions, disciplinary actions, job descriptions, etc.
  • Displays proficiency in recruitment, selection, motivation and development of staff.
  • Works closely with application vendors as needed, oversees release updates (planning, testing, documenting, training, etc.), issues list(s), new product evaluation and learns any new applications/systems to support departmental activities.
  • Performs application/system maintenance of tables, master files and data entry automation design.
  • Includes, but is not limited to development, coding, testing, implementing, and performing post-execution validation of "scripting" routines that access files, execute "key-stroke" emulation to post the files, and refiles the source data.
  • Leads and/or accomplishes gathering data, problem analysis, review of/defining system specs by applying knowledge of applications, applicable documentation, files, reports and other application related workflows.
  • Serves as liaison between IT and the business community for department initiatives. Resolves system issues independently, or if needed, reports issues to IT and/or application vendor to ensure timeliness of resolution.
  • Works closely with various levels of staff/customers/management to determine technical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Educates customers of any complexities associated with project requirements and suggests other alternatives to achieve an equal or better result.
  • Participates in various projects, prepares documentation, including project plans, requirements, design documents, workflows, requests for vendor proposals, presentations, test plans, policy/procedures, training materials, stakeholder communications and Leadership approvals.
  • Applies standard system and project management methodologies throughout the implementation and use of assigned applications, including progress reporting, procedural and change control/management processes.
  • Leads and/or participates in the creation and execution of a communications plan that meets the needs of a project, including status meetings, status reports, change management, and issue escalation.
  • Creates agendas, ensures the capture of minutes, and conducts meetings in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Supports Merger and Acquisition activities related to departmental business and technical needs.
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of internal policies, procedures and standards, new employee onboarding and training materials, and provides training to fellow team members and/or end users as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with external regulations and internal policies.
  • Mentors/coaches less senior team members to enhance their skillsets, broaden their knowledge base and promote career growth.
