Company: Ultra Intelligence & Communications

Job Description Ultra I&C is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sr. Systems Administrator. The Sr. Systems Administrator will have primary responsibility for supporting our Austin, San Diego, and remotely based US employees, collaborating with other US team members and global IT teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scripts using VB, Batch, WSH, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Monitor network and systems performance proactively and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage and maintain Exchange, Office 365, Domain Controller, and Active Directory environments.
  • Perform network upgrades, hardware refreshes, and OS/software upgrades and patching.
  • Review, apply, and remove approved user permissions for files and groups on the domain.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Document hardware and software configurations, maintenance history, and backup history.
  • Create and manage user and group accounts.
  • Conduct manual data transfers using approved software and procedures.
  • Install, configure, update, and remove system and application software from Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Monitor and allocate system resources, including CPU, memory, and storage space.
  • Audit system log files and conduct compliance audits.
  • Perform basic networking tasks, including routing and switching.
  • Manage storage solutions, such as PowerVault, EqualLogic, NetApp, SAN, and NAS.

 

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong experience with Exchange, Office 365, Domain Controller, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with Storage Area Networks (NetApp, EqualLogic, EMC).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, including VB, Batch, WSH, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Deep understanding of Windows Operating Systems, application servers, database software, and deployment technologies.
  • Experience with network upgrades, hardware refreshes, OS/software upgrades, and patching.
  • Experience with Virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Experience working with Linux or UNIX.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance. Security Clearances are granted to US Citizens.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 5 years of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside of standard business hours.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Professional level certification from VMware, Microsoft, or Cisco (e.g., VCP6-DCV, MCSE, CCNP-DC).
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800.171 and CMMC compliance standards.
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint or other ERP systems.
