Job Summary

Castalia Systems is seeking a Journeyman Systems Administrator, to support our client onsite at Fort Shafter, HI.

Roles and Responsibilities

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
  • Install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, manage system backups and recovery processes, and implement necessary upgrades and patches.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (can substitute with Associate's degree and 4 years of experience, or HS diploma and 6 years of experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical users and collaborate across multiple teams and external entities.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent tasks, projects, and priorities to meet customer deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills in maintaining documentation of system configurations and procedures, and providing reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
  • Experience providing technical support to end users: monitoring system performance, troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, managing system backups and recovery processes, and implementing necessary upgrades and patches.

  • CompTIA Security+ and/or DoD 8570-compliant IAT Level II Certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting the Intelligence Community or a DoD, Army, or Joint Staff classified program.
  • Experience as a U.S. Army Information Management Officer and/or coordinating across multiple organizations including Signal Brigades, Army offices, INSCOM, DoD CIO, DIA, GISA, NEC.
  • Ability to assist in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new technology deployments.
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with team members, government clients, and stakeholders across teams to problem solve and recommend and implement system improvements.
  • Experience with Kanban, Agile, or project management applications and methodologies.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Network+, or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification(s).

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Normal office environment.

Travel
  • Less than 5%.

Salary at Castalia Systems is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000.00 to $120,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Castalia Systems• total compensation package for employees.
