Must be a U.S. Citizen Job Summary Castalia Systems is seeking a Journeyman Systems Administrator, to support our client onsite at Fort Shafter, HI.
Roles and Responsibilities A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to: - Install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, manage system backups and recovery processes, and implement necessary upgrades and patches.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (can substitute with Associate's degree and 4 years of experience, or HS diploma and 6 years of experience).
- 3+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical users and collaborate across multiple teams and external entities.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent tasks, projects, and priorities to meet customer deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills in maintaining documentation of system configurations and procedures, and providing reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Experience providing technical support to end users: monitoring system performance, troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, managing system backups and recovery processes, and implementing necessary upgrades and patches.
- Ability to install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems.
- Experience with managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts.
- CompTIA Security+ and/or DoD 8570-compliant IAT Level II Certification.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting the Intelligence Community or a DoD, Army, or Joint Staff classified program.
- Experience as a U.S. Army Information Management Officer and/or coordinating across multiple organizations including Signal Brigades, Army offices, INSCOM, DoD CIO, DIA, GISA, NEC.
- Ability to assist in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new technology deployments.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with team members, government clients, and stakeholders across teams to problem solve and recommend and implement system improvements.
- Experience with Kanban, Agile, or project management applications and methodologies.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Network+, or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification(s).

Salary at Castalia Systems is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000.00 to $120,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Castalia Systems• total compensation package for employees.
