Description

EmergeOrtho's Corporate IT Team is seeking a Systems Administrator with a primary focus in Application Services to join their team. This role is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, and optimization of EmergeOrtho's business and clinical applications, with an emphasis on Microsoft 365 services, collaboration platforms, cloud-based applications, and emerging technologies. This role partners closely with operational and technical teams to ensure applications are secure, reliable, and aligned with organizational objectives. The Systems Administrator serves as a Tier 2 resource for application support, identity access management, system configuration, vendor coordination, and troubleshooting, while contributing to application governance, process improvement, and user adoption initiatives. The position also supports AI-enabled technologies, Microsoft Copilot, and other business applications to enhance productivity and operational efficiency across the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or the equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Server/Network Administration
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in healthcare or medical office setting preferred
  • Experience deploying, maintaining, and customizing Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Azure, and Office365 environments
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of technology with the ability to translate business issues and desired outcomes into technical solutions
  • Experience designing and implementing optimal backup strategies
  • Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Displays flexibility in accepting, changing, or carrying out assignments
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills in both verbal and written communications

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Provide technical support to assist in solving complex computer support problems, resolving issues regarding desktop, server, and network interactions
  • Effectively take technical priorities and design reliable, high-quality solutions
  • Set and communicate the technical operational standards for server and storage administration through the organization
  • Upgrade system by conferring with vendors and services; develop, test, evaluate, and install enhancements and new software
  • Maintain system performance by realizing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks, and operating and system management systems; design and run system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor
  • Secure system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establish and test disaster recovery policies and procedures; complete back-ups; maintain documentation
  • Troubleshoot escalated server, virtualization, or network-related issues
  • Set and implement group policy standards throughout the installed client base
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware problems and their inter-relationships with available tools (e.g., personal computer and peripherals, network equipment, communications equipment, etc.)
  • Proactively seeks resolution on difficult hardware installations and maintenance issues

Systems Administration & Operations (Tier 2)
  • Provide Tier 2 administration and support for Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and hybrid cloud environments including Azure.
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.
  • Perform patching, system updates, backup verification, and recovery testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot system performance, reliability, and availability issues; resolve where appropriate and escalate complex issues to Senior Engineers.
  • Assist with infrastructure initiatives such as server deployments, cloud migrations, and system upgrades by executing approved tasks and validation steps.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles to support operational consistency.

Application Services (Tier 2)
  • Provide Tier 2 administration and operational support for Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Administer SharePoint sites, libraries, permissions, retention policies, and governance controls in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Support OneDrive provisioning, migrations, access troubleshooting, and end-user collaboration issues.
  • Assist with Microsoft Copilot configuration, licensing, feature enablement, and user support.
  • Provide Tier 2 administration for clinical and business applications, including user access, role management, configuration changes, and vendor coordination.
  • Support Enterprise PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) platforms,
    including:
    • User access and role administration
    • Modality and imaging connectivity troubleshooting
    • Integration support with EMR and other clinical systems
    • Coordination with PACS vendors and third-party support teams
  • Assist with PACS upgrades, patching, image routing issues, and system availability monitoring, escalating complex or systemic issues to appropriate teams and/or vendors.
  • Support AI-enabled applications and models, including access control, configuration support, operational monitoring, and issue escalation.
  • Maintain application documentation, access matrices, and audit-ready operational procedures
