Job Description:
SYSTEM ENGINEER
The System Engineer shall be responsible for requirements engineering, integration planning, lifecycle management, and technical risk/issue mitigation across complex mission focused systems. The position requires strong Linux CLI expertise and deep Jira Service Desk administration experience, with responsibility for driving cross-stakeholder alignment, maintaining disciplined configuration and change control, and producing clear, comprehensive technical documentation. Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail are essential for guiding technical decisions and ensuring successful system delivery.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor of Science
• Experience: 20+ years of related experience
• Security clearance required: Active TS/SCI w/ Poly
• Required skills:
• Demonstrated proficiency navigating Linux systems using the Linux CLI
• Experience eliciting, analyzing, validating, and documenting technical and functional requirements to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs and align with mission objectives
• Experience developing detailed integration strategies, coordinating cross team dependencies, and overseeing system integration activities to ensure seamless interoperability across components
• Experience at identifying potential risks, evaluating impacts, creating mitigation plans, and tracking issues through resolution to maintain system stability
• Proficient in maintaining disciplined configuration baselines, documenting changes, enforcing version control processes, and ensuring all modifications follow established governance procedures
• Strong ability to collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating clear communication, alignment, and timely decision-making throughout the project lifecycle
• Experienced in defining system lifecycle strategies, including development, deployment, maintenance, enhancement, and decommissioning phases to support long term program sustainability
• Produces clear, comprehensive, and well-structured technical documentation, including diagrams, procedures, how-to guides, and reports that support engineering, operations, and compliance needs
• Hands-on expertise designing, configuring, and maintaining Jira Service Desk projects, workflows, automation, permissions, and custom fields to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

The likely salary range for this position is $193,800 - $262,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
