Job Description

The Director of the Clinical Laboratories is responsible for the management, operation, and technical activities of the Clinical Laboratories within Mountain Health Network. This position represents the inpatient and outpatient activities of the Clinical Labs within the Health System structure.Reports to: VP of Service Lines for SMMC specific duties; System COO for system specific dutiesSupervises: Director of Cabell Huntington Hospital LaboratoriesSt. Mary's Medical Center Laboratories

Job Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science required; Master's degree in Health Administration, Business or other related field strongly preferred
  • Experience in CMS and Joint Commission and CLIA accreditation processes

Certification/Registration
  • Current WVDHHR State license and ASCP (or equivalent) Registered

Experience
  • Five years in clinical lab operations or healthcare management experience required which includes management of a labs department in an ambulatory or hospital setting preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects
  • Ability to learn new systems software. Independent and self-motivated
