Salary

$42.50 to $44.64 per hour
This is a non - bargaining unit position

Under the supervision of the Director, Information Technology, the Systems Administrator performs a variety of technical duties related to the administration, maintenance, security, and support of the school's technology infrastructure. This includes on-premises and cloud-based systems, servers, virtualization environments, identity services, backup and disaster recovery platforms, cybersecurity solutions, and enterprise applications. The Systems Administrator will also provide technical support, assist with IT projects, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of technology services across the school.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Systems administration: network integrity/stability/QOS, perimeter security, disaster recovery, intrusion detection/protection, cloud security, data security, federation service management (network/data migration and integration)
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management systems.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune and endpoint management platforms.
  • Administer cloud-based services and SaaS applications utilized throughout the school.
  • Administer Apple related workstations and laptops.
  • Manage server infrastructure, virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and/or VMware), storage systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, patch management, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of SMS hardware and software systems, application servers, internet and security systems, IT backup and recovery systems, router, Firewalls, LAN/VLAN/WAN management, and phone systems (VOIP)
  • Troubleshooting network related issues, e.g. user accounts, internet connections, LAN issues, cloud-based issues
  • Technical support of desktop computers, laptops and other electronic devices / peripherals
  • Supporting teachers in the integration of technology
  • IT Help Desk and Ed-tech support
  • Documentation, technical writing, report generation
  • Special event and school activities support, including meetings and assisting personnel as required
  • Conduct presentations and training sessions as needed
  • Manage inventory
  • Other relevant duties, as assigned


Required Education & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years working in a similar role in an enterprise environment.
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field and/or current industry certifications/designation (MSCA, MSCE, G-Suite Admin).
