Position Summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a System Administrator Level 2 to support the VISTA (SRE Team). This role provides implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for Information Technology systems and infrastructure. The position supports daily system operations, monitoring, escalation response, user support, and technical problem resolution across client, server, storage, network, and related environments. The role also requires strong Linux experience, Linux shell scripting proficiency, and knowledge of Cisco, NetApp, and Kubernetes/containerized environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Support IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide support for dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Troubleshoot IT systems and provide in-depth technical problem resolution.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install and load operating system software, troubleshoot and maintain the integrity of network components, and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Strong Linux experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Linux shell commands and scripting is required.
  • Knowledge of Cisco network configurations, commands, and troubleshooting is required.
  • Knowledge of NetApp filer configurations, commands, and troubleshooting is required.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization is required.
  • Ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Required Education and Experience Equivalency

  • High School Diploma/GED with 15 years of experience.
  • Associate Degree with 15 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
