This position is a Medical Leadership role governed by the Medical Staff Rules and is responsible for liaising with the PAC and the physician groups involved, dealing with concerns as they arise and participate in process improvements and quality initiatives. This position will report to the Associate Corridor Medical Lead CRH (ACML).
Responsibilities include but not limited to:Connect with the PAC Leads at the adult sites and create a perioperative anesthesiology committee to:
- Identify site-based PAC deficiencies and make recommendations for improvement
- Ensure patients at high risk for perioperative delirium are identified and mitigating strategies made available, when possible
- Ensure patients at high risk of difficult perioperative pain management are identified and non-narcotic options for pain management are made available, when possible
- Produce s South Corridor PAC manual (living document) for reference, including most recent recommendations and outline site-based options.
- Present semi-annually to ZAEC
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and have a passion for quality and patient safety. The successful applicant will also have a Corridor-wide perspective and an approach to leadership of contributing to the broader vision. The Physician Lead will collaboratively engage with HMDs, ACMLs, CCDL & CCSL as well as health care providers, and other AHS services for the implementation and delivery of strategies for improved healthcare and safe, quality patient care.
