Sustainment & Maintenance Specialist
We are seeking a Sustainment & Maintenance Specialist to support the MIT LL team.
You will join a Strategic Satcom team that is involved in a synergistic combination of research, proof-of-concept test beds, and system engineering/application efforts focused on the goals of enhancing the capacity, the robustness to interference, and the flexibility of future generations of communications satellites, as well as line-of-sight radio communications systems. Current research is concentrating on the design and performance of advanced waveforms, the construction of flexible, adaptive wideband frequency plans, robust acquisition and tracking techniques, dynamic resource-allocation protocols, and advanced networking strategies. Promising research results are verified in hardware/software proof-of-concept implementations that provide quantitative performance data as well as complexity information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing terminal operations
- Loading cryptographic keys
- Providing maintenance on a variety of systems
- Removing and replacing failed systems and subsystems
- Conducting system anomaly troubleshooting and resolution
Work Environment:
- Location: On-site - Schriever SFB
- Travel Requirements: Minimal (<20%)
- Working Hours: Standard
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD TopSecret Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position
- Familiarization with test equipment, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, power meter, Fireberd, fiber optics
- Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
- UNIX Operating System
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- 5 years of Operations and maintenance in military SATCOM environments
Desired Qualifications:
- SATCOM Terminal Operator
- Cryptographic Equipment Operations
- Possess strong oral and written communications skills
- 10 years of Operations and maintenance in military SATCOM environments
- MILSTAR/AEHF
- EPS
Basic Compensation:
For Colorado only, the salary range is approximately $117,600 - $176,400 USD annually. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
