About the RoleThe Mine Surveyor, offers an exceptional opportunity to accurately and in a timely manner, set out of mine design (Underground Stopes, Lateral Development, Vertical Development, Production rings, Infrastructure).
The position will be on an 7 day on/7 day off roster (12 hour days) and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.
FIFO and camp is not available. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy.
We offer a competitive salary, bonus structire and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $82,582 to $111,728 CAD
Key result areas in this role include:
- Maintain and extend an accurate control point network
- Scan or pick up active headings; Provide line and grade for all underground development
- Update and distribute driving layouts reflecting daily progress, Review survey requirements with underground supervisors
- Execute closed-loop traverses as per standards provided
- Mark up long-hole stopes and service holes
- Perform CMS scans of stopes and raises, Provide QAQC of stopes using DeviGyro, and update level plans in Deswik CAD with appropriate text and symbols; Ensure accuracy of technical data to ensure optimum recovery of ore
- Perform surface site work such as dig plans, stockpile surveys, dam crests, and bathymetries
- Maintain equipment in good condition; report any loss or damage
- Perform drone scans and video inspections
About YouAs a Mine Surveyor, it is preferred that you have a Mining Technician diploma or similar. Practical experience in other fields will also be considered.
It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
- 2+ years mine surveying experience and sound understanding of survey principles
- Sound knowledge of underground mine practices
- Good health and the ability to lift moderately heavy equipment
- Positive attitude towards exhibiting and promoting good health and safety behaviours
- Competent with the preparation of mine plans and instructions
- Competent with the calculation and reporting of EOM figures
- Competent with presenting and communicating information
- Technical competencies with survey hardware and software including total stations and drones
- Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders throughout the business
- Solid analytical and problem-solving ability
- Good attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of work
- Excellent time management and prioritisation of stakeholder requirements
- Self-motivated and proactive to achieve individual, team and business goals
