Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geomatics, GIS, geology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS, geospatial discipline, or hydrographic data collection.
• Advanced knowledge of hydrographic data collection systems and methods.
• Nautical experience and ability to safely navigate watercraft during surveys.
• Familiarity with U.S. state rules for watercraft operation and safety equipment.
• Mechanically adept, particularly in low voltage wiring.
• Ability to travel for extended periods, including internationally.

Responsibilities

• Creates high definition lake surveys through data collection with a crew.
• Analyzes and researches lake areas to optimize data collection resources.
• Assists in organizing and executing multistate data collection logistics and compliance with regulations.
• Maintains logs for vehicles and equipment, ensuring it's regularly inspected and serviced.
• Provides training and assistance to contractors during data collection efforts.
• Reviews collected data for accuracy and collaborates with management and GIS teams.
• Gathers information on lake features and navigational aids to support data collection.
• Innovates new workflows and explores advanced data collection systems.
