Survey Manager (RPLS) - Texas

STV is looking for a licensed Survey Manager (RPLS) to help lead and grow our surveying practice across Texas. Based in Round Rock, this is an opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role where your technical expertise, client focus, and ability to develop strong teams will directly support some of the region's most important transportation, utility, municipal, land development, and infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do
  • Lead survey operations for a wide range of transportation, utility, municipal, construction, land development, and infrastructure projects throughout Texas.
  • Serve as the Registered Professional Land Surveyor responsible for reviewing, certifying, and sealing survey deliverables in accordance with Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors requirements.
  • Guide boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, easement, route, utility, construction, and as-built surveys from planning through delivery.
  • Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to SITs, field crews, office technicians, and CAD professionals while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource strategies that support efficient, high-quality delivery.
  • Champion quality assurance and quality control practices that ensure accurate, reliable, and defensible survey deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, SUE teams, geospatial professionals, construction managers, project managers, and clients to deliver practical survey solutions.
  • Review legal descriptions, plats, easement documents, right-of-way maps, and boundary evidence for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Advance the use of modern survey technologies, including GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, 3D terrestrial laser scanning, UAV/UAS LiDAR and photogrammetry, and GIS.
  • Support business development through client conversations, proposal input, scope development, fee estimates, and technical presentations.
  • Help establish survey standards, procedures, and best practices that support consistency and growth across Texas operations.
  • Mentor and develop survey professionals through coaching, performance feedback, and career development support.
  • Promote compliance with company safety expectations, Texas surveying regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.


What You'll Bring
  • Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor license, or the ability to obtain Texas licensure through reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe.
  • 5-10 years of progressively responsible professional surveying experience, including leadership of complex projects and technical teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Texas boundary law, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, TxDOT survey standards, right-of-way mapping, construction surveying, and utility coordination.
  • Experience managing survey projects, budgets, schedules, people, and client relationships in a fast-moving project environment.
  • Familiarity with survey software and tools such as Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, ArcGIS Pro, and related technologies.
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, 3D terrestrial scanning, UAV/UAS LiDAR and photogrammetry, or other advanced survey technologies.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build trust across multidisciplinary teams and client groups.
  • A commitment to mentoring others, maintaining technical excellence, and delivering a high level of service to clients and project partners.


Compensation Range:
$130,962.60 - $149,671.54
