Full Job Description
Role and Scope of Position: Plan and coordinate land survey work activity within the assigned territory. Responsible for coordinating various survey activities of staff and field crews and vendors while providing advice to project teams. The primary functions will be to coordinate Vendor activity including preparing RFPs, assist with hiring from the approved vendor list, schedule/review/approve all deliverables and invoices. Regularly oversee the survey work of assigned support staff and vendor crews. This individual may also attend project meetings, provide oversight on all Survey related tasks, proving to be an advocate for the department, providing the highest quality and integrity for daily tasks. HYBRID WORK POLICY Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change. Essential Functions: 30 Coordinates all Survey related work within assigned territory by both internal employees and external vendors. 30 Assists with reviewing the work of Vendor; reviews and approves vendor invoices. 30 Provides direction and training on Utility specific survey work to Vendors as required. 30 Prepares RFPs, may assist with selecting and hiring Survey Vendor (from approved Vendor list), ensures all Vendor survey work is being performed within the scope of services, including schedule. 30 Reviews all Survey requests to determine the appropriate resources needed to efficiently complete the task. 30 Acts as the point of contact for all internal and external customers. 30 Provides survey related project status to the project teams or other business partners as required during all survey related phases. 30 Performs calculations, research, field and office tasks to support the accurate location of company property boundaries and rights of way. 30 Retains all required paper work and Vendor deliverables to ensure recoverability if needed 30 Performs limited Real Estate functions including field investigations and reports. Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications: Technical Knowledge/Skill: 30 Demonstrate high standard of professional technical competence 30 Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, techniques and latest instruments of land surveying. 30 Knowledge of civil engineering principles and terminology relevant to the practice of land surveying including construction methods, engineering plans and specifications is required 30 Thorough knowledge of safety rules 30 Knowledge of Land Surveying, mapping, legal documents and real estate terms, familiar with standard concepts and practices 30 Must have a basic understanding of property law 30 Knowledge of State statutes and regulations governing surveying and mapping including subdivision Land Court (MA only) and AUL areas. Must have a strong background in boundary surveying 30 Ability to write clearly and concisely 30 Ability to provide customer service that meets or exceeds company standards 30 Must Demonstrate the ability to coordinate groups as well as to work independently 30 AutoCAD experience is required; experience with Civil 3D is preferred 30 Must have experience with Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS equipment and related software Education: 30 Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent in combined education and experience. Experience: 30 Three (3) or more years of progressive field and office experience associated with all aspects of land surveying Licenses & Certifications: 30 Licensed Land Surveyor preferred 30 Valid drivers license required Working Conditions: 30 Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. 30 Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. 30 Outdoor work will be required as part of this job, walking rights of way and other properties. Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, writing, typing and communicating. 30 Field work functions will require the ability to lift 50 pounds, carry survey equipment, walk through rough terrain and work in all types of weather. Occasional standing, walking, stooping or bending. The annual salary range for this position is: $97,110.00-$107,900.00 Worker Type: Regular Number of Openings: 1 Emergency Response: Responding to emergency situations to meet customers needs is part of every employees role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
