Responsibilities:
- Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients during the peri-operative period
- Observes patient upon admission to OR
- Helps plan nursing intervention based on Plan of Care derived from knowledge of the patients' health status and knowledge of the procedure to be performed
- Scrubs, sets up table according to OR standards
- Maintains sterile technique
- Provides for patient safety and comfort
- Assists surgeon, anticipates surgeon's needs, and establishes appropriate priorities
- Handles instruments, supplies and equipment properly
- Performs activities that foster a culture of safety within the department and organization
- Identifies safety/risk reduction strategies and communicates these to department director
- Assumes additional responsibilities as directed
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Certification as an Operating Room Surgical Technologist from NBSTSA required
- Prior experience working in an Operating Room setting within an acute care hospital preferred
Posted Salary RangeUSD $40.59 - USD $50.74 /Hr.
