Full Job Description
Job Summary:
The Surgical Radiology Manager has 24- hour responsibility for the direct and/or indirect care of the surgical patient.

Education:
Required:
Graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program. Reference: https://www.arrt.org/Education/ (compliant with all continuing education mandates).

Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, or other related field.

Experience:
Required:
At least one-year prior experience as a radiologic technologist within the surgical environment, demonstrating knowledge of appropriate techniques used within this area. Experience should demonstrate effective leadership skills, including effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Previous Management experience

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
ARRT certified and compliant with all continuing education mandates.
ARRT registry eligible- must complete within one year of hire.
BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward

Department Position Summary:
The Surgical Radiology Manager has responsibility for the daily clinical coordination of personnel and resource management in a fiscally responsible manner. They are also responsible for collaborating with Operating Room Staff, Anesthesia Staff & ancillary departments to effectively manage, facilitate, and complete surgical cases for elective, urgent, and emergent surgical radiology procedures. This team member is accountability for quality patient care and the orientation, education, growth, and performance of those reporting to them.

The Surgical Radiology Manager must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

This individual also contributes to nursing and Erlanger Health System through support of the philosophy and objectives.

Clinical competency is evaluated annually using a variety of mechanisms including direct observation, in a skills lab, or discussed verbally or written. Competency can also be evaluated by a formal peer review process and/or by self assessment based on objective criteria that is reviewed and validated. It focuses on the population-specific needs of the customers served by the staff member.
