Work you'll do

As a Project - Senior Consultant, Strategy, Growth, and Transformation on the Operations Transformation team, you will:
  • Serve as the day-to-day waterfront representative, maintaining a regular presence at waterfront locations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project teams, maintenance community representatives, ship organizations, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of surface ship maintenance policies, processes, and strategies to support the definition, planning, and execution of depot maintenance availabilities.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual and related Fleet Maintenance and Modernization policies.
  • Support the government client through oversight, direction, and advisory support related to major maintenance and modernization planning and execution.
  • Provide expertise and continuity to assigned ships and maintenance teams in defining requirements, managing execution, resolving issues, and maximizing material readiness.
  • Assess maintenance team alignment with applicable Fleet Maintenance and Modernization policies and help identify opportunities to close process or execution gaps.
  • Capture, communicate, and help institutionalize lessons learned across ship classes and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, briefings, and executive-ready communications concerning maintenance progress, risks, issues, and recommended solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings for leadership that distill complex information, outcomes, risks, and recommendations into clear, actionable formats.
  • Investigate significant incidents or issues affecting cost, schedule adherence, contractor performance, technical execution, or material support.
  • Develop risk-informed evaluations of new work, growth work, and proposed modifications, including potential cost, schedule, readiness, and execution impacts.
  • Evaluate current and future modernization planning activities and recommend improvements to maintenance management processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase stakeholder engagement and adopt new systems, processes, and tools.
  • Communicate process and system changes effectively, anticipate stakeholder concerns, and support smooth transitions.
  • Stay informed about relevant ship maintenance, modernization, knowledge management, and industry developments to inform recommendations.
  • Serve as the local geographic lead for the team, coordinating day-to-day waterfront and installation access for assigned team members.
  • Track and manage team presence across installations, offices, ship visits, and recurring meetings to support effective on-site operations.
  • Coordinate administrative requirements related to base access, visit scheduling, meeting attendance, and local waterfront logistics.
  • Maintain awareness of team movements, local engagement schedules, and stakeholder meetings to help ensure appropriate coverage and continuity.

Qualifications

Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years of relevant experience
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • 5+ years of experience with surface ship maintenance policies, processes, and strategies
  • Ability to work on site 3-4 days a week in San Diego
  • Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting ship maintenance and modernization
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in San Diego, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to San Diego and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,200 to $155,400.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
