Shape Fuel Supply Strategy Across a Critical U.S. Market
World Fuel is seeking a commercially minded Supply Manager to lead fuel supply strategy and optimization across a key Central U.S. region.
In this highly visible role, you'll serve as the primary supply decision-maker for your assigned market, balancing supply security, profitability, customer demand, and market opportunities. You'll work directly with refiners, traders, terminal operators, sales teams, pricing teams, and logistics partners to ensure competitive supply solutions that support business growth.
This is not a traditional procurement or supply chain position. It is a strategic and commercial role that combines market analysis, supplier relationship management, inventory strategy, risk management, and fuel supply optimization.
What You'll DoLead Regional Supply Strategy
- Develop and execute regional supply strategies that optimize profitability, supply reliability, and customer service.
- Monitor fuel market fundamentals, supply and demand trends, pricing dynamics, and competitive activity.
- Evaluate sourcing alternatives and make commercial supply decisions that support business objectives.
- Identify market opportunities, arbitrage opportunities, and supply advantages that create value for the business.
Manage Key Supplier Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with refiners, traders, terminal operators, inventory providers, and other strategic supply partners.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for suppliers within your region.
- Negotiate, manage, and ensure compliance with fuel supply agreements.
- Develop industry relationships that provide market intelligence and support strategic decision-making.
Partner with Commercial Teams
- Work closely with Sales and Pricing teams to support customer growth and improve competitiveness.
- Develop sourcing strategies that support profitable growth.
- Provide market insights and recommendations that influence commercial decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align supply strategy with business objectives.
Optimize Fuel Supply and Market Performance
- Make daily supply decisions that maximize optionality, profitability, and security of supply.
- Manage inventory positions and understand the financial and commercial impact of supply decisions.
- Monitor exposure, basis risk, and market structure within the assigned region.
- Support forecasting, planning, and performance analysis activities.
- Partner with transportation and logistics teams to improve flexibility and operational efficiency.
Serve as the Regional Market Expert
- Develop deep expertise in your assigned market, including suppliers, terminals, logistics networks, and competitive dynamics.
- Communicate market conditions, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders.
- Provide clear, actionable guidance that supports effective decision-making across the organization.
- Serve as a trusted subject matter expert within the broader Land Supply organization.
What You'll BringRequired Qualifications
- Experience in fuel supply, refined products, wholesale fuels, energy, commodities, trading, commercial supply, or related markets.
- Strong understanding of fuel supply networks, market economics, and commercial decision-making.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and commercial agreements.
- Ability to analyze market conditions and translate insights into business actions.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within wholesale fuels, rack supply, refined products, terminal operations, trading, or energy markets.
- Knowledge of inventory management, market exposure, basis risk, and supply optimization.
- Experience partnering with commercial, sales, pricing, operations, and logistics teams.
- Understanding of fuel distribution networks and regional market dynamics.
- Experience with Excel, Tableau.
