Position Summary: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading TEC's end-to-end supply chain operations, including strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, material planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, logistics, and continuous improvement. This position ensures material availability while optimizing cost, quality, delivery, inventory investment, and regulatory compliance across aerospace, nuclear, defense, calibration, and commercial operations.
This position functions as a working manager, balancing leadership responsibilities with direct participation in daily Supply Chain operations. The incumbent is expected to actively perform procurement, supplier negotiations, planning, ERP administration, inventory analysis, and operational problem solving while supervising assigned personnel and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
To support organizational growth and continuity, responsibility for inventory management, warehouse operations, and shipping and receiving may transition to this position in phases as determined by the Director of Operations. Initial emphasis may focus on procurement, supplier management, and material planning while ensuring a seamless transition of additional Supply Chain functions.
Essential Functions

Supply Chain Leadership
- Lead and actively participate in all Supply Chain functions.
- Supervise, coach, and develop assigned Supply Chain personnel.
- Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance metrics.
- Develop and improve Supply Chain processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service to achieve company objectives.
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements.
- Manage purchasing activities, long-lead materials, and supplier performance.
- Develop qualified suppliers and reduce supply chain risk.
- Support new product introduction and production requirements.
Supplier Management
- Maintain TEC's Approved Supplier Program.
- Monitor supplier quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Coordinate supplier corrective actions, audits, and development activities.
- Build strategic supplier relationships that support company objectives.
Material Planning
- Manage material planning and MRP activities to support production schedules.
- Monitor material availability and resolve shortages.
- Coordinate material planning activities with Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Support engineering changes and the new product introductions.
Inventory Management
- Lead inventory planning and control activities.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and material traceability.
- Oversee replenishment planning, cycle counting, and inventory discrepancy resolution.
- Ensure accurate inventory transactions within the ERP system.
Warehouse Operations
- Direct warehouse operations and material flow.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, and handling of materials.
- Support production through efficient kitting and material movement.
- Maintain warehouse organization, inventory integrity, and 5S standards.
Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics
- Oversee shipping, receiving, and logistics operations.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
- Manage freight providers and transportation costs.
- Ensure accurate shipping documentation and export compliance.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure Supply Chain activities comply with all applicable company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards including AS9100, CMMC, ITAR/EAR, ISO/IEC 17025, NQA-1, 10 CFR requirements, and FAR/DFARS.
ERP and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain Supply Chain master data and ERP transactions.
- Develop Supply Chain reports and performance metrics.
- Improve Supply Chain processes through ERP optimization and automation.
- Lead initiatives that improve cost, quality, delivery, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
- Promote Lean principles, 5S, and continuous process improvement throughout the Supply Chain organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise assigned Supply Chain personnel, including Purchasing, Inventory Control, Warehouse, and Shipping and Receiving functions, as assigned. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Seven (7) years of progressive Supply Chain experience.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, nuclear, or regulated manufacturing.
- CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, and/or Lean Six Sigma certification
Physical Demands
- Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office, warehouse, and manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving equipment and production activities. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when working in designated production or warehouse areas.
Travel
Occasional travel of approximately 10-20% may be required.
