Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing & Supply Execution

Position Summary
The Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing is a people leader responsible for overseeing procurement execution, supplier performance, and team effectiveness across assigned materials, suppliers, or business units.

This role leads the procurement team, ensures consistent execution of procurement processes, and owns escalation management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing partners closely with Supply Planning, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Operations, and Finance to translate planning signals into reliable supply execution while developing procurement talent and maintaining execution discipline.

Essential Job Functions
Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team, including performance management, workload prioritization, and capability development.
Oversee procurement execution across assigned portfolios, ensuring alignment with service, inventory, and working capital objectives.
Own escalation management for supplier performance issues, supply disruptions, and execution risks; ensure timely resolution and clear communication.
Partner with Supply Planning and S&OP to align procurement execution with demand plans, inventory targets, and mitigation strategies.
Monitor supplier performance metrics and procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); identify trends and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to procurement standard work, data accuracy, and system discipline across the team.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply execution.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of procurement and supply execution processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to manage escalations and drive cross-functional alignment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and supply chain analytics tools.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting S&OP or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
Prior experience leading, mentoring, or providing functional guidance to planner roles or equivalent supply chain positions required.
Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), Institute for Supply Management (ISM), or related supply chain certification.
Experience managing supplier performance reviews or strategic supplier relationships.
Exposure to inventory optimization, service improvement, or working capital initiatives.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily desk-based work in an office or hybrid environment.
Regular use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, collaboration tools).
Minimal travel expected (Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer for prolonged durations.
Ability to work extended hours during planning cycles when needed.
