Role Purpose
We are seeking a skilled VLSI Engineer to join our dynamic team at Wipro Technologies-USA, focused on advancing Quality Engineering within Compute Systems, Servers, Consumer Electronics, and Hardware Manufacturing sectors. This role plays a critical part in driving quality processes from prototype stages (TS1) through to mass production (MP), ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality VLSI systems. The selected candidate will be instrumental in defining specifications, system architecture, layout, and implementation strategies to exceed client quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of quality assurance methodologies and strategies for VLSI board design and related hardware systems.
  • Engage proactively with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) across all build phases, ensuring adherence to quality protocols and continuous process improvements.
  • Perform comprehensive quality audits, track and manage Quality KPIs, and drive corrective and preventive actions to sustain high standards.
  • Implement advanced problem-solving techniques such as Ishikawa diagrams, FMEA, SCAR, 5 Why analysis, 8D methodology, Pareto charts, and MIL standards to identify root causes and resolve complex hardware failures.
  • Ensure compliance with key industry standards including ANSI S20.20 for ESD and ISO 9001 for Quality Management Systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, and supply chain to establish and refine quality procedures-such as SOPs, PCNs, and work instructions-aligning with organizational goals and client requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports and presentations on quality status and improvement initiatives to stakeholders and management.
  • Manage project tasks related to quality engineering activities, adhering to timelines and resource constraints.
  • Utilize data analytics tools (JMP, R, Excel) to analyze quality trends, drive data-supported decision-making, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of quality and accountability across teams.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3 to 5+ years of proven experience in Quality Engineering within the hardware manufacturing domain, specifically in compute systems, servers, or consumer electronics.
  • Strong familiarity with VLSI board design and manufacturing processes, including prototype to mass production transition.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality audit execution and quality performance tracking.
  • Mastery of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex system hardware faults.
  • Knowledge and application of pertinent industry ESD standards and ISO certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences in English.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Six Sigma certification are highly preferred.
  • Basic project management skills to coordinate quality initiatives and deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical/data analysis software to support quality documentation and reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English); ability to concisely report to cross-functional team and management.

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $140,000 .

Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
