Schedule: 7:00am-4:00pm, Hybrid (4 Days Onsite and 1 Day Remote)

Pay: $38-$41/hr

Job Description:
About the Role
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to drive supplier quality performance and ensure a reliable supply of high-quality components. This role serves as the primary quality liaison between internal teams and suppliers, leading supplier development initiatives, resolving supplier quality issues, and implementing corrective actions to support uninterrupted production.
The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing and quality background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience working directly with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and process performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance using key metrics such as DPPM, quality complaints, and on-time shipment performance.
  • Lead supplier corrective action activities and ensure timely implementation of effective solutions.
  • Investigate supplier quality concerns and drive root cause analysis utilizing tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone methodologies.
  • Conduct supplier audits to verify product conformity, process compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support supplier development initiatives to improve quality, manufacturing capability, and operational performance.
  • Manage containment activities and corrective actions to minimize production disruptions.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and operations teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, GD&T requirements, and inspection data to ensure compliance.
  • Document investigations, quality complaints, corrective actions, and supplier performance improvements.
  • Support the establishment and achievement of short- and long-term supplier quality goals.
  • Travel to supplier facilities as required to audit, investigate, and improve supplier performance.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles and supplier quality processes.
  • Knowledge of:
    • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
    • MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
    • Root Cause Analysis methodologies
    • 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone problem-solving techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present technical information to suppliers and management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong supplier relationships.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Familiarity with Engine, Axle, or Transmission components.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including:
    • Machining
    • Casting
    • Injection Molding
    • Stamping
    • Forging
  • Experience working with global suppliers and cross-cultural teams.
  • Foreign language proficiency is a plus.
