The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor within the Air Logistics Complex. The purpose of this position is for Maintenance Specific training, Training Management, Courseware Development and Classroom Instruction within the Air Logistics Complex. Serves as the single point of contact for training matters affecting Complex maintenance personnel. Responsible for the development, execution and compliance of an effective functional training program and its policies to ensure a skilled, well-trained, qualified, certified, safe and healthy civilian and military workforce in accordance with all applicable AFIs. Under the auspices of the Force Development Flight, provides for career development and progression to enhance the workforce's performance and career success with minimal impact to production at the best cost. Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Participates in special manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

- May be required to travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft IAW the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for training or mission accomplishment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

1. Mastery knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support. Extensive knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures

2. Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of team building, developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and leading members as a cooperative team. Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium (or large) sized organization.

3. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options. Knowledge of education and training to include resources such as facilities, equipment, development and delivery.

4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization.
