Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN (Operations Supervisor) in the Energetics Manufacturing Department (M), Cast Products and Explosives Division (M2), Explosives Production Branch (M22) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $158,322).

Duties

Help

• You will be responsible for management, supervision, and oversight of manufacturing/plant operations.
• You will be required to manage and supervise engineering technicians and operations personnel.
• You will be responsible for official timekeeping and approval for assigned government and contractor personnel, workload and leave planning, operational schedule commitments, performance management, and ensure employee opportunity and accountability.

• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current explosive handler certification.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• You may be required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period.
• This position requires shift work. You will be required to work night, morning, and noon shifts.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering and administrative oversight on the manufacturing of explosives or technology development to ensure deliverables meet quality and safety requirements for operational timeliness and success.
