DutiesHelp
- Serves as a Security Specialist responsible for administration of Personnel Security (PERSEC) Information Security (INFOSEC), and Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA) programs.
- Collaborates directly with Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) G2 and Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) G2 to resolve complex security challenges impacting the security posture of the command and subordinate units.
- Assists with Preparation, coordination, and conducting Security Compliance inspections and Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) including the preparation and presentation of briefings and written reports on the results.
- Administers the INFOSEC Program for Headquarters, NETCOM, ensuring the protection of classified information across the headquarters staff.
- Provides guidance and advise to Command staff regarding the original and derivative classification process, proper storage, destruction and transportation requirements.
- Assists in implementing the program for the security of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) at the headquarters and throughout the command.
- Serves as the principle subject matter expert for NETCOM G2 and administers PERSEC program command wide.
- Develops NETCOM policy on all aspects of the Personnel Security Program management across the command.
- Responsible for implementing a broad range of PERSEC requirements across the command, independently making complex policy interpretation of all aspects of PERSEC management.

- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI). Designated IT-III and Special Sensitive.
- Work is generally sedentary, although inspection trips may require long periods of walking and standing under office or field conditions.
- Inspection trips may require excessively long hours of work, long distance travel, and be impacted by rapid movement between extreme temperature and time zones.
- May require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
- This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13. It is approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs for use in the Army via the following memorandum:
- Memorandum, Assistant Secretary of Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, dated 8 September 2015, subject: Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
- The SPeD certification is DoD's initiative to professionalize the security workforce by establishing a common set of competencies for security practitioners that promotes interoperability, facilitates professional development and training.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- Position is designated Mission Essential in accordance with DoDI 3020.42.
- Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander, Supervisor and/or Local Command Policy
- Incumbent may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty.
- Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.

To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes:
1. Administration and oversight of a multi disciplined security and training program to include: Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), and Security Education, Training & Awareness (SETA) AND
2. Interpretation of security policies and dissemination of information to Command and subcommands AND
3. Providing guidance, leadership and oversight to subordinates.
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
