Summary

Duties

Help

  • You will conduct root cause analysis of personal injury and industrial mishaps to identify contributing factors and recommend preventive measures.
  • You will use Safety and Occupational Health principles, practice and procedures to develop and recommend the implementation and management of safety and health programs.
  • You will perform required announced and unannounced inspections of facilities to detect hazardous and undesirable operating conditions.
  • You will compose reports to provide recommendations on safety issues to individuals inside or outside of the organization based on data analysis results.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Providing technical safety and occupational health advice and guidance to managers and supervisors;

2) Implementing the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA);

3) Initiating new approaches to deal with existing safety problems; and

4) Determining safety needs and requirements in performing diverse and hazardous operations.
