SummaryAbout the Position: The incumbent will serve as the Deputy Chief of Police who is responsible for law enforcement operations with supervision of law enforcement patrols that function 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

- Oversee and direct work of the Police Division.
- Specifically responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance with existing policies and procedures regarding police operations and administration.
- Perform duties as the senior on duty supervisory DA Police Law Enforcement Officer within the Division, assist and guide the activities of subordinates engaged in law enforcement work.
- Direct the activities of 50-60 civilians and contract support personnel to include monitoring progress of major projects.
- Make decisions on project priorities to meet changing requirements
- Identify problem areas and makes necessary changes in policies and procedures to correct deficiencies and to meet short and long range objectives.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level which includes: Planning, directing, and reviewing the activities of police officers; assigning work to subordinate police officers; observing and evaluating the work performance of police officers; Participating in investigations; utilizing basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and/or techniques involved for maintaining order and protecting life and property.
