Duties

Help

• You will be responsible for the safe handling, storage, and transshipment of conventional ordnance as well as the maintenance and upkeep of magazines and open ammunitions storage areas.
• You will be responsible for all matters relating to the Ordnance Handling Division's mission including the Receipt, Storage, Segregation and Issue (RSSI) functions.
• You will carry out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates, assuring equality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, etc.
• You will directly supervise 11 civilian personnel.
• You will direct real property maintenance and management of facilities and equipment for the division.

• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• May be exposed to hot, wet, cold, humid, windy, or poor weather.
• Incumbent will be involved in everyday risks or discomfort which require safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting/training rooms, libraries, residences, magazines, piers, production areas, and private or commercial vehicles.
• Incumbent is required to use safe work practices with equipment, avoids trips or falls, and observes fire regulations and traffic signals.

Qualifications

GS-11

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience exhibiting knowledge and responsibility for the overall management and direction of Navy Fleet Ordnance Support operations, receipt/storage, segregation and issue support of U.S. Fleet Forces Command, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleets areas of operations.
• Experience performing explosives safety training: AMMO-18, 29, 33, 36, 43, 49, 51MV, 62, 74, and or AOOCP-I, AOOCP-II courses.
• Experience demonstrating 5 years' experience conducting Navy specific explosives safety management programs 1, 2, ,3 4, 5, 6 7,8, 9 assessments, and Ammunition Management and Accountability Review (AMAR) assessment at the unit, detachment, and component level.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience for the GS-11 position.

GS-11

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
