The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST (NH-1515-04) to work in the 448 SCMW/948 SCMG on Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK. Job Open Date: 31 Aug 2026 Job Close Date: 8 Sep 2026 Who may apply: All U.S. Citizens The purpose of this position is to serve as a 2nd level supervisor and as a senior Air Force (AF) operations research analyst and to provide expertise in initiating, applying, and planning major developmental studies. Recognized as the Air Force authority on operations research, providing expert guidance and advice to Air Force headquarters staff, major command (MAJCOM) activities, and/or other agencies. Exercises 2nd level (or higher) technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more during duty time. Employs scientific and analytical techniques to define and evaluate the feasibility of assigned projects, studies or problems. Reviews and evaluates study projects, proposals, and/or reports for adequacy of methodology, including the use or development of computerized models, ensuring the techniques used are valid and appropriate to the problem or issue identified. Serves as a consultant and Air Force level technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations. Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts. Additional Position Requirements: 1. A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering or a closely-related scientific discipline is highly desired. Advanced degree(s) are preferred. 2. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 3. Must exhibit a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology. 4. May be required to acquire and maintain a security clearance. 5. This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving the APDP certification as designated on the position description within the defined grace period for that certification level after assignment. This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities, achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months. Knowledge and mastery of a broad range of methods and techniques used in classical and modern advanced operations research studies and possession of analytical abilities. 2. Knowledge of expert quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions. 3. Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints. 4. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization, and to mentor, motivate and apprise a staff of subordinate workers. 5. Ability to recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling, communicate information in writing in a succinct and organized manner, and produce written information, including technical material, which is appropriate for the intended audience. 6. Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques. 7. Ability to design, build, and use models and simulation techniques.
