In this position, you will supervise a team of administrative personnel who coordinate and perform a wide variety of mission support services essential to United States Border Patrol (USBP) operations.
This position starts at a salary of $91,205.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $118,569.00 (GS-12, Step 10).
As a
Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience supervising employees providing services in direct support of operational programs. Typical duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervising a team that coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of USBP.
- Advising management on administrative matters; conducting or participating in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems, and methods to identify areas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services.
- Overseeing a team that researches, evaluates, prioritizes and recommends solutions for critical issues.
- Supervising a team of administrative personnel and speaks authoritatively on in-depth knowledge of policies, commitments and interests.

QualificationsExperience: You qualify for the
GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Conducting or participating in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems, and methods and identifying ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services.
- Managing projects and assignments related to the management and program operations.
- Advising management on assigned administrative matters.
- Operating, managing, and overseeing the fleet management programs including purchasing, disposing, maintenance, budgeting and reporting functions.

You must:
- Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
- Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/04/2026.

Additional informationSupervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18 month probationary period upon appointment.
Leadership Training: All newly appointed first-time CBP Supervisors are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include 3 weeks of in residence training in Harpers Ferry, WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
