- Serves as Deputy in the Intelligence Directorate, Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH).
- Responsible for assisting in the planning, direction, guidance, oversight and support relating to all aspects of the Intelligence and Security Programs and related future missions assigned to the Command.
- Provides the Director, J2 and the SOCSOUTH Commander with intelligence assessments and estimates during short-notice crisis/contingency events or on-going operations to support course-of-action development and resourcing decisions.
- Incumbent administers the development of in-depth intelligence feasibility assessments to determine best methodology for resourcing (force allocation, equipping, cross-leveling) and supportability.
- As assistant to the Director of Intelligence, applies knowledge of intelligence management, threat analysis, forecasting or other analytical methodologies.
- Coordinates with officials at national-level agencies, Theater J-2s, the U.S. Special Operations Command, service specific, tactical, and other organizations/units to ensure intelligence requirements are satisfactorily processed.
- Exercises supervisory responsibility over SOCSOUTH SCI and Collateral security offices and personnel consisting of DA civilian, military, and contractors engaged in security functions.

Conditions of employment- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- TDY travel will be required 25% or less of the time.
- Shift work, irregular tours of duty and/or extended duty may be required. Incumbent is subject to no notice call ins during non-duty hours for crisis action, contingency deployments, and other short notice operations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience to the next lower grade (GG/GS-13) which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Experience integrating/fusing intelligence across multiple disciplines (GEOINT, SIGINT, HUMINT, OSINT); 2) Experience at a multi-star level command (such as Geographic Combat Command);
AND 3) Experience briefing intelligence assessments and project status to senior military and civilian leaders.
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
