About the Position:

This position is located at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center, Director for DMS, Primary Care Clinics at Fort Belvoir, VA.



This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help

  • Serves as Practice Manager.
  • Direct and oversee enterprise scheduling and template management activities to improve patient access and optimize clinic performance.
  • Oversees the use of MHS GENESIS and enterprise analytics platforms to monitor clinic performance and support data-driven operational decisions.
  • Oversees resource management and budget execution.
  • Supervises Medical Support Assistant (MSA) staff by planning and assigning work.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre- existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series
  • A personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • One-year supervisory probation period required. A one-year probationary period is required if selectee has not previously met this requirement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Assisting with routine administrative support for assigned clinics to help maintain smooth daily operations. 2) Scheduling appointments; 3) Using MHS GENESIS and enterprise analytics platforms to look up information, run reports, and monitor clinical performance; and 4) Assisting with budget formulation.

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
