Summary

You will serve as a Cybersecurity Department Head in the Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Division of COMFLTREADCEN.

Duties

Help

  • You will have experience using Vulnerability Risk Assessment and Management (VRAM) tools and performing vulnerability management procedures.
  • You will promote awareness of cybersecurity policy and strategy among management, ensuring that sound cybersecurity principles are embedded in the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
  • You will develop policy, programs, and guidelines for implementation and review existing and proposed policies with stakeholders.
  • You will advise senior management (e.g., Digital Group Head, Executive Director, Commanding Officer, etc.) on risk levels and security posture.
  • You will prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures concerning the security of network system(s) operations.
  • You will supervise and manage relevant security implications within the organization, specific program, or other area of responsibility by performing all supervisory duties expected of a senior civilian leader.
  • You will perform the full range of management responsibilities to include technical supervision of subordinates' work efforts.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Developing cyberspace plans, strategy and policy to support and align with organizational cyberspace missions and initiatives; 2) Promoting awareness of cyber policy and strategy as appropriate among management and ensure sound principles are reflected in the organization's mission, vision, and goals; 3) Assuring successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate information technology policies and procedures that are consistent with the organization's mission and goals; 4) Acquiring and managing the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk; 5) Directing staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes across the organization to reduce risks to information and IT and responding to incidents.
