Full Job Description
You will serve as a in the SUPERVISORY CRIMINAL INFORMATION OFFICER in the CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION DIVISION of NCIS.

This job will close when we have received 50 applications which may be sooner that the closing date.

Duties

Help

  • You will supervise and direct development, implementation and management of the worldwide Criminal Justice Information Division (CJID) programs.
  • You will assist planning efforts and offer recommendations regarding policy development and implementation, resolution of complex criminal justice reporting issues, and technological integration.
  • You will offer advice regarding organizational directives to resolve management problems.
  • You will develop National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and fingerprint training for personnel using biometric technologies.
  • You will troubleshoot to resolve problems and engage vendor support to repair/replace equipment, ensuring compliance with maintenance agreements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing oversight and compliance with the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) policies and procedures for collection, storage, use, and safeguarding of information and providing oversight and development of biometrics, fingerprints, and criminal justice information reporting policies.
