Summary

In this position you will serve as a Supervisory Budget Analyst responsible for directing and carrying out the broad functions and activities assigned to the Branch.

Duties

  • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Directs, manages, and coordinates budget activities for the Branch and oversees the total budget operation for assigned programs and activities.
  • Participates with the Division Director in formulating and recommending budgetary policies and programs.
  • Provides expert technical advice and guidance to specialists and technicians on a variety of complex problems encountered in their work assignments.
  • Directs and coordinates the work through key subordinates assigned immediate responsibility for broad segments of the Branch's programs.
  • Interviews candidates for positions in the Branch, and makes or recommends selections, promotions or reassignment actions.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:

  • Provides guidance and interpretation on financial/budget regulatory or statutory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors employee performance throughout the appraisal cycle and providing continuous feedback, coaching, mentoring, and developmental opportunities to improve individual and team performance
  • Leads cross- functional teams and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, including OMB, agency leadership, and program managers to achieve organizational objectives.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
