Full Job Description
AFNWC/NC, the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate, is seeking a highly qualified Supervisory Acquisition Program Management Specialist to fill a NH-1101-04 vacancy as the lead liaison to the Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Sentinel Program Office, ensuring effective communication and coordination within the Nuclear Networks Division (NCN) at Hanscom AFB, MA.

This position has a typical 2026 salary range of $142,452 - $197,200

DUTIES:

As the lead Program Manager for the Sentinel program, this individual is responsible for guiding the critical transition from the Minuteman III to the new Sentinel capabilities, in support of the nation's Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) infrastructure. This role encompasses managing the full acquisition lifecycle for the program, from procurement and sustainment to modernization. The Program Manager will proactively upgrade systems to meet emerging Department of Defense (DoD) requirements while managing program cost, schedule, performance, and risk. A key function involves advising leadership on technical design, development, acquisition, and operational issues. This includes identifying and resolving highly complex problems that cross organizational boundaries and proactively developing and presenting status updates and decision briefings to senior leaders.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
• U.S. CITIZENSHIP
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Applicant must possess or be able to obtain a Practitioner Level Program management certification, with certification required within 48 months of appointment to position.
• Knowledge of and experience in implementing policies, best practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management process and initiatives. Knowledge of the mission, role, function, and organizational structure of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process. Possess strong ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
• Comprehensive knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of program management and Air Force acquisitions.
• Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, and structure of DoD, Air Force, nuclear enterprise stakeholders and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisitions process.
• Knowledge and/or experience with NC3 systems, operations, or communications (highly desired).
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead critical aspects of directorate wide efforts and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of efforts and personnel in support of the process.
• Strong ability to communicate orally and in writing with clarity, conciseness, and technical accuracy, to include the ability to develop and deliver detailed briefings to Senior Leaders and Stakeholders.
• Skill in mentoring, developing, and retaining a diverse, high-performing workforce.
• Direct knowledge or experience with NC3 systems, operations, or communications.
• Experience working within the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) operational community.
