Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be:

Experience:
Five or more years of successful, progressively responsible experience in data management, analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related technical field, with at least two years in a lead, supervisory, or project management capacity. Experience with California K-12 data systems and state reporting (e.g., CALPADS) is highly desirable.

Education:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field is preferred. Equivalent experience demonstrating the required knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the degree requirement.
